What an unforgettable experience our Active Champions campers have had this week! 🤩🎭

We were incredibly lucky to welcome the Assistant Director of three live-action Popeye films to camp, giving our young stars a real taste of the film industry! 🎥✨

Our children became writers, directors and actors for the day, creating their very own short films from start to finish.

They:
📝 Wrote their own play scripts
🎬 Directed their own scenes
🎭 Brought their characters to life through acting
💡 Used their imagination, teamwork and creativity every step of the way!

Watching their confidence grow as they stepped behind (and in front of!) the camera was amazing. Who knows... we may have discovered some future filmmakers and Hollywood stars! ⭐🍿

🌿🔥 Bringing a little Forest School into our active camp! 🔥🌿

At Active Champions, we love combining movement, adventure and the great outdoors. Yesterday, our young explorers swapped the sports field for the forest and immersed themselves in the wonders of nature. 🌳🍂
Using cotton wool, fire starters and seashells, the children learned the fundamentals of safe fire lighting while exploring the Fire Triangle—discovering how heat, fuel and oxygen work together to create fire. 🔺🔥

Forest School is about so much more than building a fire. It inspires curiosity, resilience, teamwork and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. The children got completely stuck in, learning new survival skills, solving problems together and building confidence every step of the way. 🌱✨

As an active camp, we’re passionate about giving children a wide variety of enriching experiences. Whether they’re running, climbing, creating or exploring nature, every activity is designed to build confidence, develop life skills and create unforgettable memories. 💚🌿

🎨🧡 Taking a break from the activeness, our little champions got creative! 🐠✨

Today, our little champions swapped sports 🏃‍♂️⚽ for clay as they enjoyed a wonderful pottery session with the amazing Emily Shepherd Cross from Little Potters. 🌟

Emily was a true champion in her own right 💪👏, hand-rolling over 30 clay slabs before delivering an engaging, inspiring, and interactive session. 🙌🎨 Her enthusiasm and expertise encouraged every child to explore their imagination, creativity, and artistic skills. 🌈💭✨

Our little potters absolutely loved designing and sculpting their very own clay fish 🐠🖐️. Every creation was unique, full of personality, and reflected the wonderful imagination of its creator. 💙💚💛

A huge thank you to Emily for giving up her time, sharing her passion, and creating such a memorable experience for our children. ❤️🙏 We can’t wait to see everyone’s fantastic masterpieces once they’ve been fired in the kiln! 🔥🏺✨

Today’s forest school adventure was packed with muddy magic and springtime discoveries! 🌿🌳

The children had a brilliant day, building creative dens using sticks and logs and working together beneath the trees 🪵
🍃

They were excited to spot woodpeckers tapping high in the branches 🐦and became seasonal detectives too, spotting clues that spring is emerging — tiny buds on branches 🌱, fresh green shoots pushing up through the soil 🌾 and early blossoms beginning to bloom 🌷.

One of the highlights was making nettle tea 🍵🌿. The children learned how nettles can be used safely and helped prepare their own warm woodland brew. They also mixed up magical potions using natural treasures they found — leaves, petals, mud and water 🥣🍂 — creating wonderfully wild forest concoctions ✨🧪.

With wellies on and plenty of squelchy mud underfoot 👢🤎, there was lots of stomping, splashing and laughter 💦😄

A joyful, hands-on day full of curiosity, teamwork and outdoor learning at Active Champions! 🌲💚
